Step 1 : To become a Forensic Scientist one must enroll in Master degree course provided in the several institutions within the country and in order to be one who performs post-mortems on the dead bodies to determine how the death occurred, one must obtain an MBBS degree and enroll in an MD course in forensic sciences.

Step 2 : Having finished with the course one may either begin his laboratory directly or may also work with certain law enforcement agencies such as the police, legal system and the investigative services of the government. Forensic scientists have employment opportunities in governmental agencies like intelligence bureau (IB), central bureau of investigation (CBI) and serving as an investigator in criminal cells of state police departments. Forensic experts practically operate in forensic labs and even in large private detective agencies to prove the connection between the criminals and the crime.
