Orel State University was named after I.S Turgenev ( formerly Oryol State Pedagogical ) Institute, located in the central district of Russia in the city of Orel. It is the administrative centre of the Oryol region. OSU was established in the year 1931 and today it is a member of Association of the Classical Universities of Russia.
