Bus Conductor – Transport Service Careers After 10th

Bus Conductor is an individual who performs various duties and they include: collecting fare, issuing tickets, assisting passengers with luggage, giving information on destinations and providing security to passengers. It is also slightly paperwork such as in marking down fares, checking schedules and counting cash. In certain regions, the tasks of driver and conductor are performed in a single position.

Bus Conductor Eligibility

Educational Qualification : They should have 10 +2 pass in any known board/university.

License Requirement : They are expected to have legitimate Conductor’s Licence. The women candidates are however awarded special relaxation to receive conductor licence under 3 months of the announcement of final result.

Note: The vacancies under each category will have 33 percent of women candidate slots. Should there be no adequate number of eligible candidates available to fill an appointment then the vacant positions will be arranged to be filled out of the male candidates of the respective category based on merit.

Where no sufficient eligible candidates are identified in the Ex-Servicemen category to fill an appointment then the unfilled positions will be occupied by candidates of the respective category on the basis of merit. It is noted that vacancies on backlog will be eliminated prior and the list of selection against backlog selection listed will be done separately.

Physical Physical Requirement of Physically Handicapped Persons

The individuals that have a disability of at least 40 per cent disability (according to disability certificate granted by the competent authority) and are the holders of valid conductor licence are to apply against the vacancies which are reserved to such individuals. The empty slots of physically handicapped individuals will be compensated with the category that they belong to.

Processing Fee (non-refundable)

It is 400 to For general and OBC candidates and 200 to SC and Ex-Servicemen candidates; however it can differ depending on the place. Physically handicapped persons will not be charged any fee in the course of processing. The processing fee will be paid in the form of printed Challan online in any branch of State Bank of India.

How to become a Bus Conductor?

The steps to become a Bus Conductor- are to be followed by the candidates.

Step 1 : On passing their 12 th class, candidates must wait till the states advertise on a post. Then the suitable candidates are allowed to apply to the post.

Step 2 : Written test will be summoned to all the Ex-servicemen who meet the eligibility criteria.

Written Test

Based on the scrutiny of the eligible candidates on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in 10+2 the examination, the short listing of the candidates in the ratio of 01:20 of the vacancies in each category to the written test will be carried out. Where there are more than one candidate in the cut-off point then all the candidates with the same cut-off marks will be called to take the written test. The written test shall be tentatively conducted after that and the information is this respect shall be made available on the site at least 2 weeks ahead.

Syllabus for Written Test

The written (objective type with multiple choice answers) will be founded on-

(i) Numerical Ability

(ii) General Knowledge and General Behaviour.

(iii) Understanding of Traffic regulations and First Aid etc.

(iv) It will not be negatively marked.

Duration of Written Test

The written test will take a duration of 02 hours.

Final Selection

The merit on the written test will be the basis on which the final selection will be done. Should two or more of the candidates have the same marks at the cutoff point an older candidate will be selected first. There will be no interview. Waiting lists will be made ready as well.

Step 3 : General Instructions

  • Written Test call letters are to be downloaded on the site when it will be requested of the candidate. No individual call letter is going to be issued. Under application form, candidate should provide his/her mobile number and e-mail address to allow further communication.
  • On the official webpage of the respective state one can find the detailed guidelines of applying online application, making a deposit of fee etc. There is also the format of application and Challan Form to deposit the fees.
  • The online submission/ registration of application form on the site shall commence as per the date mentioned therein on all purposes. To avoid rejection of the application the candidate is supposed to enroll his/her name a day before the closing date and provide the detail of fee deposited on or before the above closing date and time.
  • A candidate is required to fill in just one application appropriately. Any form of incomplete application will be dismissed automatically and without any explanation. There will be no offline application.
  • The reservation will be allowed under all India basis and in the case of OBC the reservation will be extended to the cases included in Central list of U.T and states Only those who have Backward Class certificate will need to produce the Other Backward Class Certificate before or on the day of test.
  • The posts will be offered following successful checking of documents, character and antecedents and medical examination etc. His/her candidature can be cancelled in case any document is found false/fake/incomplete.
  • In addition to the online application, the candidate should attach scanned recent passport size photograph and signature of the candidate.
  • In the event of any controversy the authority of the Director Transport, Union Territory/State will be the ultimate authority and any sort of legal hassle the responsibility will be with anxiled UT/State.
