The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2026 is the single entrance exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BSc Nursing, and other medical courses in India. NEET is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in offline (pen & paper) mode.

Every year, lakhs of students appear in NEET to secure admission in government and private medical colleges across India.

NEET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for NEET 2026, candidates must check the eligibility conditions carefully.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 17 years as on 31 December 2026
  • No upper age limit (as per current rules)

Educational Qualification

  • Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent
  • Subjects required: Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology & English
  • Candidates appearing in Class 12 in 2026 are also eligible

Minimum Marks Required

  • General Category: 50%
  • OBC / SC / ST: 40%
  • PwD (General): 45%
